Welcome to Folkwander ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your purchase of digital travel guides and online content, as well as your access to our primary website and hosted guide resources (collectively, the "Services").

By purchasing a guide or accessing our materials, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Delivery & Access Method

  • Fulfillment Delivery: Upon successful payment, you will receive an instant download of a one-page Access Card (PDF document) containing:

    1. The direct web link to the online guide (hosted via Canva Websites / Folkwander web pages).

    2. The unique access password required to unlock and view the guide.

  • Access Continuity: We endeavor to keep online guides accessible at all times. However, we reserve the right to perform technical maintenance, update URLs, or refresh passwords. If your access link or password stops working, contact customer support for updated credentials.

2. License and Password Security (Strict Personal Use)

  • Single-User License: Purchase of a guide grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license to view the guide online and retain the Access PDF for personal reference.

  • Password Confidentiality: You agree to maintain the strict confidentiality of your access password. Sharing, distributing, posting online, or reselling your access link and password to third parties, forums, or shared repositories is strictly prohibited.

  • Termination of Access: We reserve the right to rotate passwords or revoke access without a refund if unauthorized public dissemination of passwords or access credentials occurs.

3. International Payments, Pricing & Taxes

  • Payment Processing: Financial transactions are processed via Stripe, a secure third-party payment gateway. You authorize the charging of the stated purchase amount to your selected payment method.

  • Currency & Conversion: Prices may be converted into your local billing currency by Stripe or your issuing card provider, which may apply standard conversion or international transaction fees.

  • Sales Tax / VAT / GST: Where mandated by law, local indirect taxes (such as EU/UK VAT, Australian GST, or US State Sales Tax) will be calculated and collected during checkout.

4. Refund Policy & Statutory Rights

  • Final Sale on Digital Access: Because the Access PDF is delivered immediately upon checkout and unlocks proprietary online material, all sales are final and non-refundable once the PDF has been downloaded or the password used.

  • EU/UK Right of Withdrawal Waiver: Under consumer protection legislation (e.g., the EU Consumer Rights Directive), you generally have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal. By purchasing and receiving immediate delivery of the Access PDF and password, you expressly agree to waive your 14-day statutory withdrawal and refund period.

  • Technical Issues: If the link is broken or the password provided does not grant access and our support team cannot resolve the technical defect within 5 business days, you are entitled to a full refund.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

  • All guide layouts, designs, written itineraries, maps, graphics, and underlying digital assets presented on our Canva web pages and Access PDFs are the exclusive intellectual property of Folkwander and protected by international copyright laws.

  • You may not scrape, frame, reproduce, modify, or commercially distribute any portion of our hosted guide pages.

6. Outdoor & Travel Safety Disclaimer

  • Informational Purposes: All hiking routes, itineraries, accommodation suggestions, and destination recommendations are provided solely for general informational and inspirational purposes.

  • Assumption of Risk: Outdoor exploration carries inherent personal risks, including inclement weather, route closures, rough terrain, wildlife encounters, and personal injury. You are solely responsible for verifying real-time trail conditions, emergency preparedness, local laws, permits, and your own physical capability.

  • No Guarantee: Folkwander makes no warranty regarding real-time safety, accessibility, or current opening hours of locations listed in the guides.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Folkwander and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, loss of travel expenses, injury, or disruption arising from the use of our digital guides, access links, or travel suggestions.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protection provisions in your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract remain unaffected.
